DId It Send?

We initiated a send to around 10,000 subscribers, at 2:15p EDT. Is it possible that at 2 hours and 45 minutes later only 39 have been sent?

The server stopped repsonding.

It may be that the host has limits on the number of emails that can be sent in a specific time period, and once that limit is reached, it stops responding.

in the mail settings, there are settings to throttle the number of email sent per minute, and the wait time between emails, you will need to experiment with these settings to find a send rate your host will allow.

if you stop the mailing, then start it again, it will only send to the recipients it hasn't already sent to.

Thank you. This is helpful.

Is my computer involved in sending the messages, once it begins, or does it just trigger the host server and the server takes over from there?

I'm trying to figure out if using satellite-based wifi is in any way the culprit.

^^^^^^^ Yes, that is correct.

This is exactly what I'd expect from Web Assist, a very efficient solution.

I'll update you on my experience with restarting the mailing.

I've cranked the number of messages per unit from 200 to 100 to 50 to 25 and now to 10. So far only 783 messages have gone out.

I would need to start and stop and start and stop to get that many to go out. Currently, none are happening.

We appear to be connecting to the Network Solutions server, okay. At least I'm seeing the hourly and cumulative graphs and I can roll over them for specifics.

Any clues?

you may also need to adjust the wait time between each email. it may be that the sending an email each second is clogging their SMTP Server and causing the script stop running.

basically there is a server limitation in place that is causing the problem and you will need to adjust the time between email to get around their limitations.

some servers limit the number of emails you can send in a day, it may be that you have reached that limit and the server will not allow to send more emails till tomorrow.

With large email lists, it is sometimes best to stage the audiences so that you are sending to smaller audiences to send the mailing in chunks.

Thank you. I'm pinging Network Solutions on this.

The Network Solutions response is "The email limits are 100 recipients at once, 1000 in one hour and 5000 emails per day total."

This would appear to be in relationship to using their e-mail servers. Does phpMyAdmin use the e-mail servers?

phpMyAdmin is a tool for managing your database, it is a MySQL GUI tool, it does not connect to a mail server.

Power Messenger will use the mail server for host of the site that you are running it on.

if Power Messenger is hosted on a network solutions site, it will use the network solutions smtp server.
