How to use Framework Theme with eCart 5

How to use Framework Theme with eCart 5

I have already built a cart page using a theme. When I run the wizard it only shows my Dreamweaver templates and no themes. When I run the wizard there are tons of pop up errors all saying "The template that this document is based on does not allow changes outside the <html> tag. The changes you made will be discarded". Although there is a region set for the body (which I select). So do I run the wizard with no template then apply the theme to each page or what? Thanks in advance

Run the Checkout wizard with no template. Then apply the template by going to Modify -> Templates -> Apply Template to page. If you like you can also convert the template to a Framweeork builder theme.

see the "Using themes in Data Bridge and Design Extender" tutorial for more details:

I've recently run into a similar problem. I ran the security assist to build log-in and registration pages. When they were done I wanted to apply a theme. It told me to apply a template first. When I do that it warns that ""The template that this document is based on does not allow changes outside the <html> tag. The changes you made will be discarded" I resolve the regions to the head and body, and most of the code disappears. Is the only thing I can do is to copy the code out from the page before applying the template then paste it into the page after applying the theme? Seems kind of cumbersome.

Another option is to use Plugins.

create a new page that uses the template and convert to a theme.

then use plugins (WebAssist -> Framwework Builder -> Plug-in -> Insert Plugin) to add the security assist page as a plugin to the new page.
