Discount / coupon code & specific item/s in cart

Discount / coupon code & specific item/s in cart

How do I apply a discount (20%) to specific items (roughly 80 items) that get discounted if coupon code matches?

If they purchase more than one or multiples, the 20% is taken off the row total. There may be multiple rows/items. The problem I'm having is that I can get it to work on one but not the total of the row and not on multiple rows (parts) either.

To start, I think I need to add a trigger rather then testing for each individual product. In other words, instead of adding 80+ rules for each of the 80 items I would use a session or ecart binding to test? Correct?

What's the easiest way; can you point me in the right direction?

use the cart conditionalTotal command.

for the coupon calculation use a flat rate and enter:

$this->ConditionalTotal("TotalPrice", "CouponColumn", "1") * 0.20

this sample assumes the coupon column is named CouponColumn, and the value stored in this column be the add to cart is 1.
