Correct Trigger for database insertion ?

I am playing with file uploads and have tried to set the upload behavior to overwrite the file if a matching file is found.

However, I am wondering what trigger to set for database insertion.

Currently, the trigger is set to fire when upload is successful, which works fine if the upload behavior is to skip unload if a matching file is found.

If I set the upload behavior to overwrite, then the upload is deemed successful, but my database table then gets a second entry

i somehow need to capture the 'filewasoverwritten' parameter ?

On an insert, you would not want to over write the file if it exists.

user a registers and uploads a profile image , user b registers and uploads a profile image of the same name. now both user a and b have the same profile image.

over write if it exists on insert can cause unintended consequences.
