Checkout errors

after entering the customer information and selecting checkout I get the following error:

Warning: mysql_pconnect() [function.mysql-pconnect]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) in /home/content/30/10773130/html/Connections/MySQL_Spooky.php on line 9

Fatal error: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) in /home/content/30/10773130/html/Connections/MySQL_Spooky.php on line 9

it seems like it is pointing to the wrong connection, i.e. my local host not my web host. But I am not sure which file is making the call.

My shipping charges are all messed up too. Checkout wizard wont let me change them.

you need to edit the Connections/MySQL_Spooky.php file with the correct details to connect to the remote mysql server.

wizard checkout

instead of altering that file. There is a correct SQL file that it should be pointing too. not sure why it is pointing this one but couldn't I change the link in the calling program? If so, what file is it?

no, you should not change the link to the connection file, that will change the names of the variables being created for the connection and cause the code to break.

you should edit the connection file that is being used to connect to the Remote MySQL Server.

ok, I renamed the correct connection file to the one it was looking for and now I get UspsCom::DoAuth. I looked at the other forums on this error. I have the production site for USPS and access.

I don't get an error code or anything further just the above?? what now?

On the bindings panel, expand the binding group for USPS and add the Full Request and Full Response bindings to the failure page. Post back a link to the site once those bindings are in place so i can test the transaction to see the request and response details.

ok I think I got it.

This is the error I got:
UspsCom::DoAuth API=RateV4&XML=PARCEL7911010REGULARTrue 80040b1a Authorization failure. Perhaps username and/or password is incorrect. UspsCom::DoAuth

One thing that has always bothered me is that the checkout wizard never asked for a password, I do enter the username they sent me but...

Only a User ID is required for the USPS Rate Lookup service. Double check that you have the correct User ID entered in the USPS Server behavior on the confirm page, if you have the correct user id entered, you should contact USPS support to determine why the rate lookup server is rejecting your request.

Re running the checkout wizard will only duplicate code.

If you need to re run the checkout wizard, you should delete the existing checkout pages first, in your pages i see 5 instances of the shipping behavior.

delete the existing checkout pages, the run the checkout wizard again to recreate fresh versions.

if you need to make changes after running the checkout wizard, you should edit the server behaviors on the pages rather than re running the wizard.
