Ecart 5, Paypal Standard and OrderTrackingNumber

Hi - wondering if someone can point me in the right direction.

I am setting up a cart using eCart 5 with Paypal Standard. I am trying to use Paypal's IPN to send notification back so I can update my database record that a user has 'paid'.

What I can't figure out is what to use as a unique tracking ID number that I can store with my order and can also get back from Paypal so I can use it as a key to update the correct record.

Can anyone shine some light on this?

Thanks

use the session ID. Add a hidden element to the confirm page to set the invoice to the session ID:

php:
<input type="hidden" name="invoice" id="invoice" value="<?php echo(session_id()); ?>"  />

the IPN post back will also include this value. store the session ID in a column of the orders table to be able to look it up by the invoice value in the IPN post.
