Installation problem

Thread began 4/03/2013 4:20 pm by dobremiejsce429781 | Last modified 4/04/2013 10:55 am by dobremiejsce429781 | 671 views | 2 replies |

Installation problem

I installed:
1) xampp
2) Mysql database
3) connection with this database (ind Dreamweaver CS6)
OK, it works.
I added content to power CMS on my php page.
Installation Wizard launched the installation proces in my default browser, but
on the first installation page I get the message:

Warning: session_start(): open(\xampp\tmp\sess_stfrhnj04ti0vevv0oe1s71fl0, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2) in D:\www\powercms\install_cms\global.php on line 2

and "Get Started" button on this page doesn't work.

Why can't I install PowerCMS?

This is the first 14 lines of the global.php file:

1. <?php
2. session_start();
4. //check if install has been run before
5. if(file_exists('../Connections/installed_cms.txt')) {
6. header('Location: ../admin_cms/index.php');
7. exit();
8. }
10. //install run already, but not fully completed for some reason
11. if(empty($_SESSION['step5completed']) && file_exists('../Connections/PowerStoreConnection.php')) {
12. include('../Connections/PowerStoreConnection.php');
13. mysql_select_db($database_PowerStoreConnection);
14. }

This is a problem with the session.save_path setting in the php.ini file.

the problem is that the path for saving session data does not exist. you need to edit the php.ini file or have the host do it for you to set a valid path for the session.save_path setting.

PowerCMS installation problem solved!

Thank you - it works! :)
I changed the line:
session.save_path = "\xampp\tmp"

session.save_path = "my_new_wwwdocs_location"

Thank you
