3 level dependent dropdown - change 1st master reset all?

OK here is one that I haven't figured out yet.

I have setup a 3 level dependent dropdown, which is working for the most part, however when I change the first dropdown, it does not reset the third level dropdown.

Explanation:

I have three dropdown menus (all database driven) that are connected to each other.

  1. Programs (program a, program b, program c, etc.)
  2. Types (type a, type b, type c, etc.)
  3. Weeks (week a, week b, week c, etc.)

Not all programs have all types and not program & types are available all weeks.

If I select a program, then a type, then a week it works properly. However If I change my Program selection after I set all three it only resets "Types". It also needs to reset weeks to be re-chosen as the previously chosen week may not exist under the new type.

How do I make that happen? ;)

Thanks.

add a second populate list from array behavior, to the program list on change event to change the weeks list.

OK, I'll give that a shot.

And to make things more complicated, the third dropdown's contents need to be filtered based on both the selection in the first and second dropdown.

How do I achieve that? ;)

you have to be crafty with the recordsets that are being used and concatinate the key columns

Hehe.. and while I am at it, I want to populate a read only text area with a value based on selection 3. :D

If I was a JS programmer I wouldn't be such a pain in your butts while using these extensions! :D

I guess that means that WADB won't provide that functionality for me on its own. ;)

No, Data Bridge does not this functionality.

Still stuck on concatation

The concatation is an interesting way to go about things, the issue is that the concatated values will be stored in the database and not the raw IDs for each dropdown that I want. Unless I am really missing something obvious. ;)

concatenating the IDS is the only way to be able to limit the choices in the 3rd list by both parent selections.
