inserting JavaScript into the POWERCMS editor

I recently enjoyed the ease of getting PowerCMS working locally and while adding content I had put a string of javascript into the editor thinking it would show up on the page. It didn't!

Does the editor allow inserted JavaScript, the sample I did just showed a blank space on the page where the script was inserted. I have since changed things but for future reference, can I code Javascript in the editors interface for my pages?

Thanks

Yes, you can code javascript in the editor, just make sure you are in source view before you add the script code. As a test I added:

<script type="text/javascript">
alert("Test 1...2...3...");
</script>

and got the expected alert when the page opened.

Javascript will not display on the page. If you are adding a script tag that connects to a .js file, you should use an absolute URL to the file, not a relative path.

Thanks Jason, I'll try that when I need to put JavaScript into the code again.
