DataBridge still crashing on Mac

Hello,

I've just upgraded to a new Apple Mac (high end specs) and re-installed the WebAssist extensions and to my surprise i still can't use DataBridge more than once without it crashing all the time.

I previously owned a PC with DW CS6 and Data bridge would crash Dreamweaver after running the wizard once. I could never complete a full set of pages for all tables without it crashing twice on every attempt even after following all of the suggestions here in the forums.

Now - I've just installed the latest versions of Data bridge and it still crashes after running the wizard.

I have so far completed the following with no luck:

Uninstalled every extension
Removed the cache
Renamed the configuration folder
Closed all open file properties windows
Turned off auto preview
Re-started Dreamweaver
Re-installed the extension
Re-named workspaces
Reset workspaces
Un-installed all other extensions
Updated Dreamweaver patches and followed every bit of advise given throughout this forum.

And guess what? Dreamweaver crashes after running the wizard once, I then have to go through the entire process again to be able to run the wizard again once.

There has to be more people with this issue, i have now seen it on every PC/Mac i own here. Can a dev please get this thing working before I call it quits and look for another solution.

Thanks

Can you provide some more details on the steps you are following up to the crash.

are you select ing one of the application presets?

are you having the wizard create the tables for you or using your own?

If using your own, what is the table structure?

On the manage pages tab, are you making any edits to the field settings? if so what changes?

are you selecting to create all of the Search, results, Insert, Update, and details pages?

Which columns from the table are being included in each table?

any other settings you are changing?

Please provide details so we can reproduce the problem to investigate the cause.

I'm using my own custom database structure that I created in MyPHP
I don't ask DA to recreate tables
I'm trying to create Results/Edit/Update Pages
I use all fields that are included in the table structure but usually omit the first field xxxID
I use the wizard from the drop down menu WebAssist|Database|DataAssist Pages
I make edits to the fields to select the correct entry types eg text, menu or file

Regardless of the order I try to create the pages it will randomly crash
Not changing any structure after the pages are created.

Table structure attached.

it would help to know exactly what you are changing here to try to recreate the problem.

In trying to recreate the problem, i need specific details on the steps to take.

Under Config Field Settings

Any field that requires a text field change its type to text (Large)
If the field type requires a file menu i change it to file
If a field requires a drop down menu I change the type to drop down menu
If the field requires a textbox or HTML Editor type i change it to HTML type

The system crashes regardless if i change the field types or not, It randomly crashes normally when you try to define features, I get 2 forms in there then crash. Doesn't matter the order of the forms i try to create.

After another 4 hours of experimenting it seems to have a great deal to do with the amount of fields there are in the table. Smaller tables crash a lot less than the larger ones but it still takes me 3-4 attempts to get one set of pages complete. Restarting DW, clearing the cache and shutting down all property windows in the process.

Hope this helps, I can do a screencast for you if that helps as I can get it to crash every time.

but what i am asking for is specifically which fields are you changing.

yes, that would be helpful, it would give the specificity that I am asking for.

The quick answer is all text to fields to Large rather than Medium
All Description fields to HTML Editor
Active page field to ENUM

thanks for the screen cast, I will try to use this info to reproduce the problem and investigate the cause to have it corrected in the future.
