Next/Previous links or buttons in Update page

Next/Previous links or buttons in Update page

Is there a tutorial or perhaps someone knows how to add this functionality: I want to add a next/previous button or link set in the update record view so one can edit the record, save it and then move to the next record for update rather than go back to the Results page first? Someone must have done this before?

Thanks much for any help, as always,

Dave

the link to the update page would pass the record ID as a query sting variable, for example:

update_record.php?ID=4

you could create 2 recordsets to return the next and previous Id's from the database,

to return the next ID the recordset would look like

SELECT * FROM yourTable WHERE idColumn > paramID ORDER BY GenreID ASC LIMIT 1

in the parameters section, create a new parameter as:

name: paramID
type: integer
default value: -1
Run time value: $_GET['ID']

The previous ID recordset would look like:
SELECT * FROM yourTable WHERE idColumn < paramID ORDER BY GenreID DESC LIMIT 1

in the parameters section, create a new parameter as:

name: paramID
type: integer
default value: -1
Run time value: $_GET['ID']

you could then use these recordsets to create the next and previous links passing the ID columns as the URL variable.

Humm ... yeah that seems like that would work. I will give that a go and see where it gets me. Thanks
