Login successRedirect

Hi there, I am trying to redirect users to a page which will show them personal information. A page which is dynamic with personal information, however on getting to the redirected page nothing whatsoever shows the personal information and besides the show region which is based on on userlevel does not even function.
The Login page (login.php) is expected to redirect to personal.php which should display some specified user's data such as Welcome message should have the name of the user and any relevant specific information.

I have included both the login and personal pages for your peruse. Thanks

Hi I noticed that in your second securityassist authenticate user behavior you have login set to "index.php" but on the first authenticate user behavior you have it set to personal.php...wouldnt they both need to be the same page as the second behavior is just a login for autologin?

Also in the first login behavior you have "personal.php?$UserGroupID" Thats not going to do anything for the personal.

In the personal.php you should at least start with a Secure Page behavior

Have you also set up your Security Assist Rules?

Once the security rules are in place then you can do conditions for UserLevel there or even have it redirecting to different pages depending on userlevel.

Thanks Designerwest, I have made the correction to the personal and login pages. Also I have the security assist rules defined with the userlevels, but the way forward from here I need assistance.

I attach the necessary files here for peruse.

3 problems i see:

1) You are using the login success rule in the authentication on the personal page, you should use the "Logged Into <your user table>" rule instead

2) There is no redirect to the login page on authentication failure, you should redirect to the login page if the access rule fails

3) in the recordset on the personal page, you are filtering the UserGroupID column on the UserGroupID session variable.

the login page does not create a UserGroupID session variable. Also, the UserGroupID would uniquely identify the user.

you should be filtering the UserID column on the SecurityAssist_UserID session variable that is created by the login.

Hi Jason, it now works well. thanks. Please would you advise me with regards to menu which is meant to be controlled by userlevels defined in security Assist Show region. It does not work as expected. please see attached menu page.

Well, the login page that you sent to me does not store the user level in a session.

you would need to edit the authenticate user behavior and on the sessions page, store the user level column in a session variable.

then create the access rules based on that user level session variable. Looks like you created the user level rules, but no user level session is being created at login.
