Ecart Database Connection Error

Ecart Database Connection Error

I am testing ecart on my local machine. I am using the online tutorial as a guide. I am using the checkout wizard. I came to the page Store Order Summary in Database. I checked the box Create Using Preset and chose the Default Preset.

I am required to create a connection. So I went to phpmyadmin and created a database. The database was created but neither tables or fields were added as I read on the tutorial that "eCart 5 will automatically create the necessary tables in your database, and bind the appropriate data."

I made a connection to the newly created database, tested it and received the message that connection was successful. I then clicked next and received the message, "Please select a valid connection to continue". What could be the reason for this message when in the step prior, I am told that the connection to the database is successful?

After creating the connection, you have to select it from the connections list before you can click on the next button

Hi Jason. I am having this same problem. The db is good. I work in there all the time. I get a message below that selected connection saying that "The selected database already contains the tables needed to complete this step. These tables will be used to bind all the values needed for storing your information... etc." But when I hit next I get the popup "Please select a valid connection to continue". Did you guys find a solution for this?

In the connection list, try changing the selected connection to none then back again.

Tried that. Also tried the option that requires me to select the db table and bind the values (which it recognizes) and then switching back. No luck.

Your existing Orders and OrderDetails tables had different column names than the preset, that was causing the problem.
