DFP file download problem

Thread began 3/18/2013 1:47 pm by evansg7124312885 | Last modified 3/18/2013 2:44 pm by Jason Byrnes | 534 views | 3 replies |

DFP file download problem

Good morning,

I did not use Digital File Pro a lot before converting to Data Bridge so my problem description may be a bit sketchy.

I am trying to allow users to download .MP4 files. I the data base connection, record set, trigger, and source folder all appear fine in the set up and there are no issues with GUI.

When page is posted, when user clicks the "Download" button, you can see activity for a split second, and page appears unaltered. I put a link right next to the download button to allow viewing or right click and save target as options which does appear to be working fine.

I would expect a save as dialog box to appear when download button is clicked, but I am not seeing it. Am I wrong in this assumption of the save as dialog?

The only thing in the GUI that I did not alter was the default for file name, I did try leaving blank, but that sets off an error in the GUI.

Any help is appreciated,

Gary E

some browsers work differently. in some browsers, the download begins automatically with the user having to click anything, in other browsers a dialog to save or open the file will appear.

If you open the browsers download window, does the downloaded file appear?

I did not see file in the downloads folder

I am working with a Mac and Safari; I also tested with Win 7 and IE 9. Here is a live link so you can see it if that helps.

the way you have created the download buttons is not correct.

dont add the form around the repeat region add the form inside the table cell that contains the download button

also, add a hidden form element to the form, set the value of the hidden form element to the FileName column from the recordset.

in the download behavior, bind the file name to the hidden form element.
