Search with Product Options

In the admin section of powerstore v2. when you search for a product using either the keyword or the SKU - if it's not the default product option, meaning if you are looking for a product that is another color (with using "product OPTIONS" in product setup) - and that has it's own SKU - it will NOT find it. I tried putting the SKU (that's listed in the product options) in the search SKU field, I tried putting the SKU in the search keyword field, doesn't matter. It won't search in product options. I'm guessing that the main search functionality is limited in this fashion as well. How do I get this fixed?

That is correct. The search will only filter based on the default products. If you wanted to remove this restriction, on the Product Results page you will need to modify the query.

Please look at line 347 of Product_Results.php and remove this from the end of the query:

WHERE COALESCE((SELECT GroupingID FROM productoptions WHERE productoptions.ProductID = products.ProductID LIMIT 1), ProductID) = ProductID

Note: When you remove these restriction, then all the individual product option combination will show on your results page, and depending on how many products you have, this could be a long list.

Yeah - that doesn't make sense. If it's going to show all the options, than what's the point of having "options".

Anyhow - I'll chalk this up to a feature not available yet.
