Questions regarding the search page and inclusion of results page

I have some questions regarding the search page Data Assist creates.
What happens when you choose to implement the search page on the results page?
Will DataAssist copy code from the search page, and then paste it to the corresponding location on the results page? Why is not the search page as a plugin on the results page? Why is the search page remains in the folder as a separate page - even though they have chosen to include it in the results page? If I understand how this works, it would have made it easier for me.

If you check the option to have the search form on the results page, it still creates the search page, but it creates a copy of the search page on the results page.

if you prefer, you can delete the search page after it is created.
