Error: Cannot send session cookie - headers already sent

Thread began 3/12/2013 1:52 am by rikaG_510 | Last modified 3/13/2013 3:53 am by rikaG_510 | 354 views | 2 replies |

Error: Cannot send session cookie - headers already sent

Hi Jason,

I have another "headers already sent" problem!
This time it appears on "checkout_success.php" page.

Order detail and email are all sent out properly to database and email recipients, but I get below error.

So I look at "checkout_success.php:4", and it's;
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="" type="image/" />

I just cannot find what is wrong with it! I'm pretty sure there's no extra blank.
Or am I missing some php code?

I attached php file for checkout_success.php page.

Thank you again, for you help

change the code you are using after the </html> tag to clear the session to this:

// Initialize the session.
// If you are using session_name("something"), don't forget it now!

// Unset all of the session variables.
$_SESSION = array();

// If it's desired to kill the session, also delete the session cookie.
// Note: This will destroy the session, and not just the session data!
if (ini_get("session.use_cookies")) {
$params session_get_cookie_params();
setcookie(session_name(), ''time() - 42000,
$params["path"], $params["domain"],
$params["secure"], $params["httponly"]

// Finally, destroy the session.

by using the ampersand before the session_start() command:

it will suppers the errors

My gosh!

I feel a bit of a fool..., I guess I spent too long staring at it!
Thank you Jason, it's all working and no error showing.

Rika :-)
