Installation problem

When going through the Powergallery 1.2.2 installation procedure it fails at the login info stage. The server checks all ticked OK. My service provider tells me that they have disabled the "mysql_pconnect() " function on the shared server, and recommend me to use the mysql_connect function in order to proceed the installation. How do I perform this change?

in the connections/powergalleryconnection.php file, change line 9:

php:

$powergallery = mysql_pconnect($hostname_powergallery, $username_powergallery, $password_powergallery) or trigger_error(mysql_error(),E_USER_ERROR);

to:

php:

$powergallery = mysql_connect($hostname_powergallery, $username_powergallery, $password_powergallery) or trigger_error(mysql_error(),E_USER_ERROR);
