PayPal logic problem

Hi Jason, I think I asked this a long time ago and the problem came up again in my new build of the website im doing...

with my ecommerce website lets say I have a cart total of £10 and shipping is 99p
now if a customer applies either a gift voucher code or a coupon code of value £10 that would bring the cart total to £0 and shipping 99p....however PayPal wont process this since its checking the total column...so would the work around consist of performing an IF statement just before the ecart post on the checkout page..something like this:

IF carttotal = £0
then carttotal = carttotal+1
and shipping = shipping-1

This way I am tricking PayPal to say there is a value in the cart total but I would be removing this value for the customer in terms of subtracting it from the shipping cost - It will look messy for the customer to see in PayPal - but of course this wouldn't happen much as I doubt there be many transactions like this.

Unless of course there is a more logical way around this problem that I am missing.

Chris

yes, you would need to pass the shipping as the cart total in that case.
