Installation Issues

I loaded Data Bridge on my laptop (PC; Windows 7) and I receive two errors in midst of Dreamweaver opening. DW eventually opens, but I am unable to utilize some of WebAssists tools. Please see the attached image to view the error messages.

What other extensions including version numbers are installed?

Hi Jason

I attached a screenshot of the extensions I have loaded. This is on my laptop. On my desktop I use the same extensions from WebAssist and Extend Studio and there is no issue. I do not have the extensions from Muck and Powers on my desktop.

Thank you for your help.

tools for google is a part of free tools.

the only extensions you should have installed are free tools, Design Extender and Data Bridge.

Jason,

I only have Data Bridge, Design Extender, and WebAssist Free Tools and I am receiving this message. I attached an image.

go to Window -> Work Space layout -> Reset '<your layout name>'

and Delete the Dreamweaver Cache file from the users configuration folder:
common_installation_issues.php

I followed your instructions on resetting the layout. I then went to the link you provided and followed the instructions to delete cache, but there was no WinFileCache.dat

I opened DW and tried to use the WebAssist>Forms>Insert New Form and when I tried to complete the process I received these two messages. The messages are the two images attached.

All that to say, the issue persist. Any other thoughts?

Thanks,

Jon

Did you just uninstall the other extensions?

I would try uninstalling all extensions, the reinstall eCart followed by Design Extender, then Data Bridge.

Thank you Jason. This seems to have corrected the issue. I'll let you know if anything arises.

Have a great day! You're awesome.

Hi

The WinFileCache.dat is only there, when Dreamweaver is not running.
So close Dreamweaver and then follow the instructions again to delete the cache-file.

I got used to clear the file cache every time before I start DW. To keep things simple, I've made a Windows shortcut to the configuration folder containing that file.

Yes I know, that's one more task before you can work with DW, but since the cache file gets corrupted very often, it's worth the effort.
Remember, that when DW quits unexpectedly, there won't be a cache file!
So to get over that problem, start DW and immediately close it again. The cache file will be recreated on that clean startup and you are ready to go.
