Change index.php to a login/registration form

Change index.php to a login/registration form

Hi,
What I want to do is replace the initial home page with the login and registration screen so uses will not see any content until they have registered or logged in, then redirect to the original store front page.
The reason for this is that the 'store' is only to be made available to a select group and by invitation only - it isn't open to the general public, and it doesn't really sell anything (strange I know but a detailed explanation would bore you to sleep!). I'm using it as a web ordering system.. and I don't want the store content to be on public display.
Does anyone have suggestions about the best, most efficient way to achieve this customization?
I guess I want the form centered on the page with a pretty background image.

Cheers,
Dave.

Replacing the index page with a login registration form is not supported.

on the users profile page, the following code makes it available to only logged in users:

php:
<?php require_once( "WA_SecurityAssist/Helper_PHP.php" ); ?>

<?php
if (!isset($_SESSION)) {

session_start();
}
?>
<?php
if (!WA_Auth_RulePasses("Logged in to users")){

WA_Auth_RestrictAccess("users_login.php");
}
?>

you could add that code to all of the pages at the power store root (except the registration and login pages), this would cause the user to be redirected to the login page if they access one of the other pages, the login page would have a link to the registration page for them to register.

****!

Hi Jason,

That's a pity, but what you are suggesting I will follow up. Unfortunately bureaucratic nightmares are a day case in my field.

Is there any chance this might be considered in a new version or is it completely contra-indicated?

Kind Regards,

David

No, I don't think this would be considered for a future version of power store, the use case would be to small.
