Update Page

Please is there a documentation for update using dataassist. I've generated the update page using dataassist if i upload it to my server it keep on saying " It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly." if i remove the update server behaviour the page will work but if i try to update a record it wont work. Is there a step to follow for updating a record?
thanks

there is not a tutorial for creating an update page, but it is fairly simple.

from the results page, the link top the update page should contain a URL variable that passes the ID of the record to update, for example:

update.php?id=5

on the update page, you create a recordset that filters the table using the id URL variable.

you create a form on the page that contains form elements for each of the columns in the table, and uses the recordset to populate the form elements with information in the database for the record being updated.

include a hidden element that contains the record ID.

in the update behavior, select the key column, and bind the key column value to the hidden element, then bind the other columns to the corresponding form elements.
