using databridge for file downloading

I want to do a digital file download from a folder outside my website document root. I created a form and then used data bridge to insert a download file behavior. Here's the php code:
<?php require_once("../webassist/file_manipulation/helperphp.php"); ini_set('error_reporting', E_ALL);?>
WA_DFP_DownloadFile("WA_DownloadResult1", "/home/myusername/uploads/", "".((isset($_POST["downLoadFile"]))?$_POST["downLoadFile"]:"") ."", "[FileName]", false, false, false, "", "", "", "");

Here's the form:
<form id="DownloadForm" name="DownloadForm" method="post" action="">
<input name="downLoadFile" type="hidden" id="downLoadFile" value="<?php echo "WO2521-B.pdf"; ?>" />
<input type="submit" name="button" id="button" value="Submit" />

I did remember to upload the helper file. The form doesn't appear to do anything when it's submitted. No evidence of a file downloading.

I'm probably overlooking something simple. Can someone direct me?

Thanks so much.

the download folder location:

should not be a server relative path, it should be a page relative path.
