CMS not posting to last four fields in link table

When I use the add CMS to page function I am noticing that no linkage data is being created in the last four fields of the CMS table. Anyone seen this before. Would appreciate help to correct. As a result I have to go to the CMS admin program to edit as the link between Dreamweaver and CMS cannot find the associated records.

adding cms to the page does not fill in those columns of the content table.

those columns are populated if you use the PCMS Admin console to create a new CMS Area, and mark that CMS Area as a template. If you create another content area from that template those columns will be populated.

see the attached screen shots for details

purpose of add CMS content to page

Then what is the purpose of the add (CMS) content action if it will not properly add pointer records to maintain a link?

adding the content to the page has nothing to do with pointer records.

Visit the CMS Admin section.

in the CMS Admin section, Select a Content section from the left hand side menu, This will populate the main area with the Content Areas that belong to the selected Content Location. One of the menu items for each content area will be the developer notes. This is code that you add to a page where you want to display the content.

When you use the Dreamweaver CMS access points, you are just really adding that developer notes code to the page.

it's not a pointer record that ties the content area to the page, it is the developer notes code.

To create a template content location, you need to use the CMS Admin, you cannot create a template content location through the Dreamweaver CMS Access points. Only with template content locations are the last 4 columns needed.

Post design add of CMS pages...

That's the problem. I needed to extend the site will additional pages that were not in the original design. The page I am having trouble with was added from scratch, and then CMS added with the Add Content To PowerCMS feature.

Is there a way, AFTER you've completed your Site Sculpture tool and setup the CMS pages...to either change the existing status of a page that was not originally set to allow for added to the PowerCMS at design time such that it can be "extended" with new CMS fields/pages?

I dont understand the question.

any pages that you need to the site after running the site sculptor wizard will need to be created manually.
