Nested Recordsets

I am quite impressed about this tutorial and the smooth procedure.

Just one question about the automatic creation of database tables. Is there a way where I can persuade the script to create text fields in utf-8? I find latin1_swedish *very* problematic with international characters

Use Dynamic Connections to create the Database connection, in Dynamic connections you can specify the character set for the connection to use UTF-8

I did this, but ...

did not prevent the fields being created in latin1_swedish_ci.

attached the part from the connection file

if the connection is set to UTF-8 the character set on the database wont mater, it will insert the data using the UTF-8 character and retrieve the data using the UTF8 character set.

if you really want the tables to be set to UTF-8, then you need to edit them after they are created.

Ok thanks

I got a bit confused about how often this UTF-8 needs to be set.
So, if I understand correctly, the table.textfield charset is unimportant as long as the connection is set to UTF-8, right?

It would need a lot of fiddling if each text field of each db table needs to be changed manually.

the connection character set will override the character set used by the table.
