IE10 Cant add content

I have a Powerstore install that has been working well and has been modified with the help of Ray and a Private session.

All has been working really well, however my client is now using IE10 and has found that they can no longer add Product Descriptions, I assume as a result as an incompatibility between CKE Editor and IE10

Can I update CKE Editor to work with IE10?

CKEditor have not yet released a version that is IE 10 compatible.

Also, they have moved from version 3 to version 4. version 4 is not a strait forward replacement for version 3, it is not a simple matter of copying the v4 files over the v3 files to upgrade the CKEditor version.

I would suggest using compatibility mode or using a different browser.

I was hoping for some better news than that.

For some reason they are against moving away from IE despite my advice. I have suggested compatibility mode and will see what happens.

Its a bit concerning as this would also effect Power CMS and HTML Editor also of which most of the sites that I build use...

HTML Editor in Data Bridge has been updated to the new CKEditor 4 version, but CKEditor still have not released an update for IE 10 compatibility.

Are you going to update Power CMS Builder in Design Extender to work with CKEditor4?
If so, do you have a timetable for this?

Yes, we will be updating Design Extender as well, but i do not have a time frame.

Once updated do you know if it will only be for new builds or will existing sites using v3 be capable of being updated to v4?

That is not a question i can answer till the update is released.

I upgraded the CKeditor version to 3.66 which seems to have resolved the problem, however despite following the instructions on the CKEditor website (as suggested on this forum) there was an error due to the gallery folder not being in the plugins directory in the 3.6.6 build.

I have copied the gallery folder from the previous install which seems to have helped, but I was wondering if someone could confirm the updgrade instruction for this.

I am now getting an error;

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'length' of null ckeditor.js:88
(anonymous function) ckeditor.js:88

yes, copying the gallery folder is the correct procedure for Power Store.

CKeditor version to 3.66 is still not updated for IE10 support though, CKEditor have not released an updated version that will work in IE 10.
