setting no vat for certain items

hi there

I have an e-commerce site running using eCart which currently has tax at 20% applied to all items. My client now wants zero tax applied to certain items...

I'm an experienced WebAssist user, but have never done this before. I have seen several similar forum posts but would really appreciate it if someone could help me through the steps necessary to achieve this.

So far I've added a Y,N checkbox to the products table to indicate which products are tax free.

My current tax rule is as follows:

If total no of unique items in the cart > 0, calculation = based on the carts total times 0.20

So can someone advise on the next step please, thanks very much

add a new column to the eCart object for taxable.

in the add to cart behaviors, set the taxable column to 1 for items that should be included in the tax rule, and 0 for items that should not.

in the tax rule, use "Number of items with a specific column value": Number Ot Items where "taxable" has a value of "1" is ">" a value of "0" for the trigger

in the calculation, use "BAsed on Items with a specific column value": Total of "Total Price" where "Taxable" has a value of "1" "Times" "0.20"
