Can't connect to existing db during reinstall

I had to reinstall PowerGallery v2, and during the setup I can't use the existing db because PowerGallery is telling me:

ERROR: The db415349578 database is not empty, it already contains tables named pg1_gallery, pg1_gallery_images. Please create an empty database for PowerGallery v2 to use.

I'm hoping to use the existing db so I don't have to re-upload all my photos. Is that possible?

Thanks.

you would need to use PHPMyAdmin to access the database, and rename the existing power gallery tables to something else in order to finish the install.

once the install is complete, rename the new tables that get created, then rename the old tables to the original names.
