connecting to a remote database

DW CS3, mySQL, PHP, WA_eCart

I need instructions for connecting to a remote database.

My website and database are on a remote server. Dreamweaver connects successfully when I test the remote info settings, but they must be wrong because I get a 404 error when I try to connect using the MySQL Connection dialog box.

Can someone please walk me through this?

What did you enter for the URL Prefix?

What happens if you enter the URL prefix in a web browser?

When you create a connections, it tries to create _mmServerScripts/MMHTTPDB.php in the host directory, then browse to it. So if you enter the URL prefix:

it will try to browse to:

my guess is that either the URL prefix is not correct, or the host directory is not set properly.
