Error messages on launch

Error messages on launch

Ever since upgrading to the newest versions of data bridge and data assist (which are really great upgrades that make using the products so much easier than all the extensions they replaced) I keep getting a modal dialog error that says "unable to find wa_sitetools_progress.htm in the Configuration/Floaters directory. The floater will not be shown." followed by "unable to find wa_sitetools.htm in the Configuration/Floaters directory. The floater will not be shown." All launching of Dreamweaver halts until I dismiss both errors. Can I easily fix this? It is an annoyance rather than a big problem since I have to sit and dismiss both errors before Dreamweaver will launch. Ideas?

Still the same

Hi Jason, but that didn't help. Same result on launch. I am using DW5.5 if that makes a difference. Any other thoughts?

Do you maybe still have some older extensions installed? The files it says it can't find aren't even used in the latest versions, so it appears to be an issue with some files not being removed from your original installation.

Do you have a lot of other extensions installed? You may want to try re-naming your user Configuration folder and re-installing all of the extensions.

If you do that, then make sure to install eCart first. Another option, since it happens at startup is to try deleting or renaming just the /configuration/startup folder. I don't think we use any files in that directory any more so the leftover files there are the likely culprit.

I was having the same problem. What finally worked was opening the Workspace files in a text editor and deleting any references to WA_Memento. Worked great!

Workspace files located on Mac at:

/Users/USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Dreamweaver CS5.5/en_US/Configuration/Workspace/

There should be two files that need to be edited:

1. WORKSPACE_NAME.xml
2. WORKSPACENAME

Open them in a text editor and look for instances of "WA_Memento"

The tags that need removing should look something like:

<panelframe dock="floating" height="500" monitor="1" width="100" x="10" y="top">
<panelcontainer expanded="true" height="418" visible="false">
<panel height="418" id="WA_Memento" unconstrainedheight="418" unconstrainedwidth="669" width="669"/>
</panelcontainer>
</panelframe>

Delete these and you should be good!

Thanks!

Although it wasn't my exact problem, you pointed me in the right direction. What I had to do was restore a default Dreamweaver profile, reset it, and then create a new workspace and save it. It's all good now. Thank God I didn't have to de-install and re-install all my extensions. That would have taken the better part of a day!

The Quickest way to uninstall all extensions is to rename the Users Configuration folder. If you Rename the configuration folder, a new one will be created by dreamweaver, and the extension uninstall from the extension manager will take seconds.
