PowerGallery version 2. Error when clicking on "settings"

PowerGallery version 2. Error when clicking on "settings"

I have successfully installed the software, and have uploaded a few galleries, but when I click on the "Choose Design" tab, then click on the "settings" link for any of the designs so I can change color or resize the gallery, I get the following error:

The website encountered an error while retrieving /admin_gallery/design_settings.php?Editing=flow&theme=dark.

Have read in past forums, where it is suggested it could be an issue with permissions. I have tried to update the permissions (775 or 777!), but still no change.

Strangely it worked the first gallery I updated, (I was able to start picking a new bg colour, but exited before saving anything), but since then I keep getting the Internal Server Error.

I'm concerned that I've corrupted something, but having looked in the DB, I can't see there's much that has been added, so am a bit stumped as to where to go next.

Seems to be server side, but just to be sure, I'm getting both issues in IE and Chrome, and have cleared cache etc... to no avail.

Hi… Suddenly I have this issue too, although it was working fine before. I tried 755 and 777 on design_settings.php….

admin_gallery/design_settings.php?Editing=grid_lightbox&theme=largerthumbs.

Any advice, most appreciated.

I found it. It was the settings in common/properties.php … I must have overwritten that page.

i fixed this by changing the permissions for the /gallery folder and all files and folders under it to 755.
