drop down link not working when item has 2nd level

Hi there

am having what i am sure is a css problem, but cant find what to change.

I have a 3 level menu

Item1 Item2 item3

Sub1

Sub2 Subsub1

Subsub2

when the sub2 item is hovered over the link to Sub2 does not work although sub 1 does (which has no submenu)
all other links seem to be functioning ok just not the level 1 items with submenus.

I have attached the menu files in the zip for you too look at
you can also view online if you find easier here: menutest.php

I am not able to reproduce the problem at the link you specified, clicking the Project 2 link brings me to:
project2/

Hi Ray

The project 1 and 2 links work fine as you see, the actual link that leads to that sub menu (projects) is not working, that menu item when clicked shoud go to projects/
It is a separate page from project 1 and project 2
Its there in the code on firbug 'with the a link but is unclickable i guess the css for the submenu maybe covering it, unfortunatley i had to reinstall the extensions to get the html editor and file upload fixes, as i result i have lost the preset for this menu.

i'm not sure what i need to edit in the css to fix this.

One problem i see is that you are using Auto for the menu item width and height, you should use a pixel setting for the width and hight.

Hi Jason (not Ray) !!!

Sorry was finishing other parts of the site.

I've added width and height, and it messes up the positioning of the menu elements (as in terms of spacing), I rea;;y would prefer it to be auto as the menu elements are dynamic from a database.... but i will look at that later.

Its still not allowing me to click the link on the level 1 dropdown when it has a lvl2 attached to it.

the level 1 does have a href on it when i look in firebug

tried changing various diffirent things but to no avail :(

am pretty sure its to do with the margin left on the lvl 2 but if i remove that then the level 2 submenu appears on top of the level 1 menu!!!

am definatly not a css guru, i have tried playing with z-indexs padding instead of margin and i cant find anything that fixes this :(

any other ideas?

the testpage from the original link should be up there now

I've re built the menu from scratch, i still neede to change some css, but its working as expected now, its really a shame the sub menu levels cant be auto widths as some menu items are very short in some submenus and very long in others, but its all working thats the main thing :)

using auto for the menu widths does not work the same in all browsers.

for browser compatibility, you need to use a specific pixel width.
