I feel duped

I feel duped

I have always had good luck with webAssist products and for the first time I feel I have been deceived in a product's capabilities. I looked through you FAQ and feature list and everything looked good. You state the following:

PayPal payment gateway
• Accepts standard credit and debit cards
• Accepts PayPal account
• Quick account setup
• Secure sandbox for testing

Notice it does not state you need PayPal Pro. In fact it does not say it in the requirements either. I do too little business to give PayPal $30 month + .30 per transaction + $15 month for a merchant account + .25 per transaction. PayPay standard is all I need.

Why can I not use standard? Why do you not state that in the features? This product does me no good. I want a refund!

Sincerely,

Brad Boyink
A displeased customer.

Try PayPal Express Checkout

The Power Store comparative does say Pay Pal Pro, but if you have a regular PP account, get a signature for PayPal Express Checkout. It is also a free service. The Power Store config. calls for the user email and a sig. This should work.

Also, if you have eCart you can re-configure the cart -- or if you can code at all you should be able to figure it out from the PayPal manuals.

Once you get Power Store hooked up and working you'll love it.

Update Our Wording

We'll update the wording on the product page to be more specific. This wasn't left out in any intentional, deceitful manner.

Thank you for the feedback that it was confusing; we appreciate all the feedback we can get.

powerStore payment gateway

I did see that Powerstore did not work with standard Paypal so I did not purchase it when it was on sale. Then, this thread says that you can use standard Paypal if you use Powerstore with ECart but a link to showthread.php?t=2776&highlight=paypal+standard says that you can't use the inventory tracking with Paypal standard.

This is very confusing and my the number of threads related to this confirms I am not alone. This really needs some clarification.

Clarification on PowerStore Gateways Supported

To clarify, the posts that Jason Byrnes detailed in the thread you link to are correct. While you could change the PowerStore to use a different gateway, you would lose a lot of functionality (such as inventory control) with some gateways (like PayPal Payments Standard) and would have to hand-code that workflow if you wanted that to work again.

PowerStore v2 is meant to work with PayPal Payments Pro and Authorize.Net. Should you want to use PowerStore with other gateways, there may be limitations, such as needing eCart or hand-coding. Anyone is welcome to contact us via this forum if there is a gateway they are considering switching the PowerStore to. We can tell you whether it's easily done with eCart, whether you'll lose functionality even if you do use eCart or our perceived level of difficulty to accomplish what you are looking to do.
