Can't get validation toolkit to authorize

Can't get validation toolkit to authorize

Whenever I try to add a validation Dreamweaver CS4 starts to load the validation window then vaporizes. I have un-installed and re-installed, updated my Dreamweaver and Mac OS to the latest versions but same problem. This also happens with Universal Email. All the other WA plug-ins function properly. Any ideas?

Is it the activation screen that it is falling apart on or is it the splash screen just before the activation? You can bring up the splash screen by going to Help > WebAssist > product > about.

If you can get the splash screen to appear for both of these then it would indicate a problem with the activation screen. Get back to us with this info and either way I will probably submit a ticket for you on this.

Found a work around

Eric,
Thanks for the reply. The problem was on the splash screen before the activation appeared.
I tried the FAQ tips on 'Common Installation Issues', this really messed things up and Dreamweaver wouldn't even launch because of an error in 'DocumentEncoding.js'.
I re-installed the validation toolkit in Extension Manager and Dreamweaver would then launch but the toolkit still would not work. Finally I un-installed extensions one at a time and when the Google Pro Maps extension was off the toolkit starting working. So I guess that's better than nothing.

Well I'm glad to hear that you were able to get it worked around temporarily. Since activating the toolkit and using it have you attempted to enable the Google Pro Maps? If you encounter any more problems let us know, you may need to clear your configuration folder. Here is a link to that post if you need it:
