using PS just as a catalogue

Hi guys

Think I know the answer, but wanting to check that I could set up PS as a catalogue only setup (ie no prices or ecommerce) and, if at some point in the future wanted to turn pricing back on and start using the shopping cart that its easy to do?

Cheers

Jamie

When adding the product you can set the price to 0, and on the additional settings page, set the inventory to 0

Power Store will show the price as 0, and also show a sold out message so the item cannot be added to the cart.

thanks Jason... and is there any way to make the stiock availability invisible so it doesnt cause confusion to people thinking that they have no stock?

Cheers

you would need to edit the webassist/plugins/shopping_cart/add_to_cart.php page and remove the sold out line:

<div id="soldOut" class="alertText" <?php echo(($row_NumLeftRS["NumLeft"] == 0 && $row_WADAProducts["ProductLive"] != 0 && $row_WADAProducts["ProductUnlimited"] == 0)?'':'style="display:none"'); ?>> Sold out! </div>
