Side menu hide all subcategories by default

Side menu hide all subcategories by default

I've read several similar posts, but have not seen any successful solutions posted. I'm wanting the subcategories to collapse (hide) by default when the page loads and the subcategories shall expand (display) only when the clicked.

Currently, all categories are expanded displaying all sub categories (and there are ALOT) which forces the user to scroll extensively to find what they need.

Can you point me in the right direction for updating the appropriate file, and line of code?

Thank you.

The side menus of power store 4 do not support collapsing by default, this is not a supported modification to power store.

can we add it in the future

I would also like to hide/collapse the subcategories by default. It would be more flexible for my clients who are looking for that type of navigation experience.
Do you think this feature might be added in the future version of PowerStore?

Thanks!
Danielle

I have added a feature request for this to be considered in a future version.

Is there a work around for this? I have nearly 30 subcategories in one cat and it's way too long on the page. There must be something to close/open in an accordion.

No, this is not supported in power store as is, we could help implement some custom coding to work around this through premiere support:

Thanks Jason. Ray is helping me on this one for conversion to responsive project, so I'll ask him when we talk.

functions.js and a reference to toggle open... is this a possible to make it happen?

new Fx.Accordion(toggler, content, {

opacity: false,

display: -1,

alwaysHide: true,

onComplete: function() {

var element=$(this.elements[this.previous]);

if(element && element.offsetHeight>0) element.setStyle('height', heightValue);

},

onActive: function(toggler, content) {

toggler.addClass('open');

},

onBackground: function(toggler, content) {

toggler.removeClass('open');

}
