Insert Article Title as a URL

I would like to create a blog using Data Assist, I was thinking of two main fields, Title and article.

The title field would upload to two columns, one would be Title and the other would be url with the special characters removed and - put between each word instead of spaces.

I can get the information to be inserted into the db, but do not know how to get php to modify the title for the url column.

Can anyone help with this please?

using the title as the URL would not be a good idea.

Use an ID primary key column and use the ID as the link.

Hi Jason

Thanks for your reply.

I was trying to find a cheeky little way of creating SEO urls without delving into mod rewrite.

Trying to get my head round it.....

mod rewrite is the best way to go, using your method could open up other potential problems.
