Recordset, echo value, combination bug...

Thread begun 10/20/2012 9:18 am by alnico431299 | Last modified 11/08/2012 1:18 pm by alnico431299 | 2316 views | 4 replies |

Recordset, echo value, combination bug...

Scenario: page with recordset only...
If I open the recordset and click okay to close (code is not changed of course).

However, when an echo recordset value statement is added to the page, i.e.
<?php echo $row_Members['MemberID']; ?>

and then open recordset and click okay to close...a duplicate Select variable is added to the page...not good.

Many hours wasted chasing errors, not to happy!
As a new user, what I have leaned is that I have to watch the code like a hawk.

a duplicate Select variable is added to the page

can you please clarify what you men by this?

I have not been able to recreate a problem with recordset code changing after adding a binding to the page and inspecting the recordset. I'm using Mac OS and Testing with Dreamweaver CS 5.5. What OS are you using?

and what version of Dreamweaver?

Are you using the most recent version of Data Bridge? Version 1.0.9?

What other extensions do you have installed?

My setup: Win 7, CS6, SuperSuite with DA1.0.9

Attached is a file that shows what happens if I open the recordset and simply click ok to close...a duplicate recordset $query_getNextForm ="..." variable is added to the page.

Yesterday, I reproduced it the error simply by following the steps I described above. However, I have found this error can inconsistently be duplicated (might depend on specific page content); on the attached page however, it errors every time.

I have a fresh reinstall with cleared cache.
I install in this order: eCart, Design Extender, DataBridge, Free Tools However, Free Tools, has some older and some newer files it wants to overwrite...I chose "yes" to overwrite all...otherwise I am clicking yes/no until the cows come home (lol)...what is the proper procedure for updating/overwriting files during install?

UPDATE: I spoke with Ray at webassist...

Apparently after an hour of testing we determined that this was a Dreamweaver bug.
The worst part is that the bug is inconsistent and unpredictable...shows up sometime and other times it does not.

Watch your code!
