What does the JS do in CSSMW?

What does the JS do in CSSMW?

I'm just in the process of trying to make a site done on the Metro Publisher platform match an existing site.

As part of that, I would like to recreate the original navigation as closely as possible, which uses MW.

With MP, I only have access to the CSS, not the actual HTML (except for reference), and am unable to upload any JS.

This is a copy of the navbar I would like to use, and it seems to work OK with the JS removed, so I just wasn't sure if it was needed?

Thanks.

mainly the Javascript in CSS Menu Writer is used for the current item options.

In menu writer you can select to highlight the current menu item, if this is set, it uses JS to compare the Address bar to the links in the menu and if it matches, then highlight that menu item.

if you don't select to highlight the current menu item, then the JS is not needed.

Thanks Jason - good just to confirm nothing will break anywhere if I leave the JS out. Just need to figure out if its possible to include it on the MP site without access to the HTML.

I'm always torn on the current menu item thing - on the one hand its quite a good visual cue, but on the other (unless I'm missing a trick here), it means having the menu on every page, rather than using an include for each page.

you can use the current page option and add the menu as an include or better yet, use a framework builder plugin.
