body content of email

body content of email

I have spent way too much time trying to get the contents of my email to show data. No matter what i plug into the Body Content in the last tab in the tool, it keeps sending me HTML of the original form.

Is seems it is pulling it from something i need to delete. Early on i probably put this code into that screen, but I have changed it numerous times while troubleshooting and nothing has changed.

Is there a tutorial somewhere for formatting the email in order to get the true data into it?

Thanks for your help.

not sure where the HTML would be coming from.

the simplest way to add the form data to your email is to use the Create a File For the email option and use one of the pre built templates.

this contains code that will loop through the form elements on the page and add them tto the email automatically.

using this method will also allow you to edit the email body without having to open the Universal Email server behavior.

see the "Customize the elements in your form-generated emails" tutorial on the data Bridge support page for details:

I am building the pages in Dreamweaver CS3 (since universal email 3 does not work with my CS5.5 version).

Does data bridge require that i learn new software, purchase new software, etc etc?

I have never found Universal Email easy to use. I also cannot edit the email body with the tool as it only opens up a window to manual edit. So each time i have to start the whole process over again. Very time consuming. Don't know that I've ever successfully used this tool in all the years I've had it. Very disappointed.

Hopefully the link you sent will make things easier for me. I will check it out, but if you have more comments please let me know. Trying to get this form done today.

Thanks again.
