javascript error formInsert.js

javascript error formInsert.js

Running Dreamweaver CS6. Adobe just sent out an HTML 5 update. Once run, all Webassist links and insert menus disappear. I reinstalled the extensions but now, when ever I try to do anything to a form, i.e. Captcha, date picker, html editor, I get a javascript error "Unable to open script file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS6\Configuration\Objects\Forms\formInsert.js" (error 2)".

Any ideas?

What extensions including version numbers do you have installed?

have you tried Deleting the Dreamweaver Cache file from the users configuration folder:

Jason,

Thanks for the quick reply. I am running Dreamweaver Creative Cloud CS6, DataBridge 1.0.8 and Design Extender 1.1.1. I have talked to Adobe and they have no solution but they acknowledge the problem. Here is the deal, Creative Cloud users recieved an HTML 5 update on 9/24/2012 to version 12.1. Info here:

dreamweaver-update-for-creative-cloud-members.html

The first thing it did it wipe out all shortcuts and insert bar favorites that the Webassist extensions add. This is a known issue. Adobe has a very unhelpful release note here:

dw-release-notes-092412.html

After reinstalling your extensions, most functionality is now disabled by the JavaScript error described in my original post. I have reverted back to Dreamweaver 12.0.1 and everything is fine now and will wait to do any more updates until someone fixes this.

Thanks.

the adobe tech note says to check each extension to reinstall it, i find this to be problematic most of the time, it is better to uninstall the extension then re install it rather than re enable it.

Uninstalled and reinstalled all extensions, cleared cache, did not work. Uninstalled again, and completely removed Dreamweaver itself, reinstalled Dreamweaver and then ran 12.1 update, then reinstalled extensions. Still does not work. Uninstalled all extensions again and uninstalled Dreamweaver again. Reinstalled Dreamweaver and this time DID NOT install the 12.1 update. Installed extensions and everything works. Looks to me like your extensions are not compatible with the 12.1 update.

Issue maybe solved

Well after a lot of research and same issues with other extensions too the problem is that for some reason after the latest DW CS6 (Creative Cloud) update,

folder: 'Adobe\Dreamweaver CS6\en_US\Configuration\Objects\Forms' becomes empty.

Normally it must contain a bunch of folders and files. If you re-install those files inside there, everything will work perfect. At least for me it did.

For everyone's help I am attaching the forms folder so you can re-install all missing files

PS. A big 'THANK YOU' to Miro from DMX Zone online support who helped me resolve this issue

Hmmm, so it seems to be a bug with the Creative Cloud 12.1 upgrade deleting the contents of the Configuration\Objects\Forms directory. Hopefully Adobe will fix the issue quickly.
