Encryption inconsistancy

Encryption inconsistancy

I use "DataAssist Pages" to generate an insert page with a hash encrypted field.
If I edit the insert page it created, its Bindings, Value, lightning-bolt...the field with encryption applied is not recognized/populated; although I can point it to the correct value and change the encryption type...however it formats the value slightly different.

Also, if I create an insert page using "Insert Single Record"...and apply encryption to a field and then close...I notice that the wa_hashencryption.php file is not added to the file as was by the "DataAssist Pages".

Is there an inconsistency or broken functionality here?

I have not tested this live...I am a new user ripping though your tools and figuring out how they all work together.

Thanks,
Brent

please provide more details.

I have run through the Create pages wizard and set a field to be encrypted using the HASH encryption type.

Afte the pages are created, i edit the Insert record behavior on the insert page and the column is properly bound to the form element using the HASH Encrypting type. I don't quite follow you explanation of the issue.

For adding the insert behavior, it looks like it is adding the wa_hashencryption.php require once line after the insert behavior code, i am logging a bug for this issue.

<?php
require_once("webassist/security_assist/wa_hashencryption.php"); ?>

When I use Create pages wizard, and then edit insert page this is what value is for HASH column:
<?php echo ((isset($_POST["column"]))?WA_HashEncryption($_POST["column"]):""); ?>

If I edit the column (lightening bolt): this is what is pre-populated:
Format: NONE
Value: <?php echo $_SESSION['']; ?>
Bindings are present in list...so I can select format: HASH and choose column.
Value is now:
<?php echo WA_HashEncryption(((isset($_POST["column"]))?$_POST["column"]:"")) ?>

You can see the format is different from the two.
Note: fields without HASH applied, populate fine.

And you are correct...the wa_hashencryption.php file is added to end of file.

I am running: Win7, DW CS6, DataBridge 1.08

Thanks for explaining, that makes a lot more sense. I have reproduced this issue and logged it in our bugbase to be corrected in the next update.

I am discovering more issues when adding/altering behaviors...

I can create a plain single insert page (no encryption anywhere), save/close.
If I then edit the behavior and choose crypt encryption...the appropriate libraries are NOT added to the file. (I have not tested other encryption types)
However, libraries are added if I choose encryption when first create the insert behavior.

I have also see when I make changes that libraries are reordered (I am assuming order is important)...however I have seen duplicate db connections occur after this process.

A little quirky

thanks you for reporting this.

I will try reproducing the behavior and log the steps in our system to have this corrected in a future update.
