Product Activations

It used to be that once a product is activated, it remained so. lately I have needed to re-activate products which were already activated, causing me to exceed max activation per product and causing me to perform activation reset. See attachment, in this case for Data Bridge, it also has happened on Site Import and others.

Q1: Did anything change?

This is because I am wasting too much to doing reset.

Thanks.

No, nothing has changed in the activation scheme.

the activation is based on the Physical or MAC address of the active network card.

If you have multiple network cards in your system, for example a wireless and hard wired connection, and change which one you use, it can cause the activation to be invalid.

also, some security software will create virtual network interfaces, the physical address of the virtual interface may change each time the computer starts causing the activation to be invalid

That does not make any sense. People are mobile and are going to have to connect to the internet using as many network cards as they have access to. The only the only thing that will be constant, will be the pc/laptop. With this said, it waill make a whole lot of sense to use the laptop/pc MAC Address.
