Big Errors with Installing Free Tools

Hi,

I installed the Free tools extension and it seems to have caused massive problems with Dreamweaver.

I am getting errors.

I uninstalled and re-installed and I still get error both with and without it installed. Its features also seem to be disabled.

I attached screenshots.

Go to WebAssist -> Preferences in the Memento section Set the Show in dreamweaver option to Never.

In the RSS Section, check the option to disable all RSS Feeds and Check For Updates only when Memento opens.

Then go to Window -> Work Space layout -> Reset '<your layout name>'

and Delete the Dreamweaver Cache file from the users configuration folder:

Ok, well I am still getting one error message when I first launch Dreamweaver.

I also don’t see any RSS options.

I also notice when I lunch the memento I get the other errors.

The biggest issue is that the Google TM option on the webassist menu will not expand...

Thanks

I am having the exact same error. I've removed the cache and made the changes suggested in this forum for the rss feeds, etc. What do I do now?

I have ran in the same problem.
As a temporary fix:
- I have uninstalled ALL WebAssist extension.
- I have installed, in this sequence the following files:
1) SiteSculptor100.mxp and added the serial#, start/exit DW5.5
2) CMSBuilder101.mxp and added the serial#, start/exit DW5.5
3) WA_SiteImport304.mxp and added the serial#, start/exit DW5.5
Note: As I installed this extension, I notice all errors vanished.
Let me know when there is a fix.

Installed Super Suite and everything worked perfectly using CS4. Decided to install Free Tools and was unable to open Dreamweaver. Cleared the cache and reset workspace layout. Was able to get back in to Dreamweaver but still getting error alerts.

Had to remove Super Suite completely and then re-install to get back to everything working. Have not installed Free Tools, I don't want to chance getting errors again. Will wait for a fix.

Same problems with free tools but it crashed Dreamweaver

This morning I got up and went to the WebAssist site looking to see what an upgrade to my software would cost when I came across the “Free Tools” download. So I downloaded the file and installed them as I have many other DW extensions.

To my horror (in the middle of trying to win a $10K contract) I found out that the “Free Tools” installation crashed my Dreamweaver.

I am running; (Windows XP pro and CS4 pro suite).

Here is the error message I get as soon as I try to open Dreamweaver:

At line 12 of the “C:\ProgramFiles\Adobe\AdobeDreamweaverCS4\Configuration\Shared\WebAssist\LayoutManager\Shared.JS”: WA is not defined.

When I press OK and go on, as soon as Dreamweaver tries to start I get another notice:
“C:\ProgramFiles\Adobe\AdobeDreamweaverCS4\Configuration\Shared\WebAssist\Preferences\RSSUpdate.JS”: WA_getExtensionDir is not Defined.

Dreamweaver is crashed and it did not do any good following your “Problems “ solution posted on your help board.

Please tell me there is a good short way to fix this problem without reinstalling Dreamweaver and all my extensions.

Dreamweaver does not open up now at all, just sets there spinning my hard drive and and I can't even abort without a restart.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ken Webster
