Network Solutions Path to PEAR

Network Solutions Path to PEAR

I called my friends at Network Solutions to ask what to enter for the "Path to PEAR" line. While they were very helpful in other ways, this was not one of them. The tech told me that the email did require authentication (user/password), to use localhost as the smtp server, and port 25. He said "organization" and X-mailer could be blank. But he did not know what to use for "Path to PEAR."

Do you know what a Network Solutions account really needs? This is the last thing I need to make the form work, it seems.

Fantastic set of extensions, btw.

If the SMTP server does not require authentication, then there is no need to use Pear mail really, you should be fine using the standard mail object instead of Pear Mail for SMTP.

He said that it -did- require authentication. Believe me, I've tried it without several times without success.

Thanks for the VERY quick response, too.

Sorry, i misread that. I don't see any documentation on the Network Solutions site about Pear mail, so I cant really say for certain what the path to pear would be on their servers.

I know you say you have already asked their support, but they weren't very helpful, but if anybody will know what the path to pear on a network solutions hosted account is, it would be network solutions support

Through google i found a thread in their forums that seems to hint the path is:

/usr/services/vux/lib/php/

script-help-perl-php-asp-net-f50-what-is-the-path-to-pear-mail-php-t8304.html

But i have no way to verify this.
