WA errors in Dreamweaver CS5

Dreamweaver CS5 is giving me Webassist errors when I launch. I close the errors and it runs OK. I disabled all WA plugins and still get some new errors attached. What can I do the eliminate errors and enable the WA plugins to work as they should?

Thanks

Go to WebAssist -> Preferences in the Memento section Set the Show in dreamweaver option to Never.

In the RSS Section, check the option to disable all RSS Feeds and Check For Updates only when Memento opens.

Then go to Window -> Work Space layout -> Reset '<your layout name>'

and Delete the Dreamweaver Cache file from the users configuration folder:
common_installation_issues.php

Memento Errors

I receive the following errors (see attachments) when trying to start Dreamweaver CS5, then it locks up. It seems to be related to the Memento Extensions. I'm dead in the water at the moment.

At line 2 of file "C:\Users\Omicron\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS5\en_US\Configuration\Shared\WebAssist\Preferences|RSSUpdate.js"; WA_getExtensionDir is not defined

In file "WA_Memnto": refreshUI is not defined

In file "WA_Memento": initializeUI is not defined

In file "WA_Memento": refreshUI is not defined

Then a very small WEBASSIST MEMENTO opens

Then after about 10 seconds, Dreamweaver Crashes with the message, "Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 has stopped working".

And, of course, since Dreamweaver Crashes, I can't get to the WEBASSIST -> PREFERENCES.

I'm a bit desperate. Any help would be appreciated.

Delete the Dreamweaver Cache file from the users configuration folder:
doc...ion_issues.php

Also in the configuration folder, go to Shared/webassist/preferances

you can manually disable memento by editing the Memento.xml file using a text editor like TextEdit.

change:

<wa_preference id="Memento_0" title="Show on Dreamweaver Startup" type="List" value="Never,When a new message is available,When any messages are available">When any messages are available</wa_preference>

to:

<wa_preference id="Memento_0" title="Show on Dreamweaver Startup" type="List" value="Never,When a new message is available,When any messages are available">Never</wa_preference>

and you can manually disable the rss feeds by editing the RSSFeeds.xml in a text editor. Change:

<wa_preference id="RSS_0" title="Disable all RSS Feeds" type="Check">0</wa_preference>
<wa_preference id="RSS_1" title="Check for Updates" type="List" value="When Dreamweaver Opens,Daily,Weekly,Monthly,When Memento Opens">When Dreamweaver Opens</wa_preference>

<wa_preference id="RSS_0" title="Disable all RSS Feeds" type="Check">1</wa_preference>
<wa_preference id="RSS_1" title="Check for Updates" type="List" value="When Dreamweaver Opens,Daily,Weekly,Monthly,When Memento Opens">When Memento Opens</wa_preference>

Back up and working, but still get the following errror.

The link for deleting the Cache points to a dead page, but the link in your original post on 09/04/2012 points to a page to delete the Cache... which I did. I also modified the two files which you suggest.

Dreamweaver is back up and working.. THANKS, THANKS, THANKS!!

But I still get the following error message in a window which I can easily clear, then go on my way. Is there something else which would not allow this error message to appear? (even though it doesn't seem to affect the operation of Dreamweaver)

Again, THANKS, for your prompt response. I hope I can RE-activate the Memento in the future when it doesn't cause any problems.
