User Update - Very Strange Behavior with Military Email

We receive many military orders using email addresses such as:

But when folks enter this, the Country automatically changes to Afghanistan creating a nightmare for shipping. It should remain as Nevada, United States.

In addition when trying to correct this, a RED error messages appears next to the Password Field stating, "Please enter a first name." But the first name is correct, but why is this appearing next to the Password field.

I've attached an image. I had to black out some of the info for security sake. If I manually try to change it back to the United States, it changes some characters in the email. This is very frustrating for all my military orders.

Any thoughts, suggestions.
