Transaction Duplicated in AuthorizeNet
Hi all,
Just wondering whether someone experienced the same issue and might have an answer for this:
We noticed several times already that a purchase on our website results in a duplicated transaction in AuthorizeNet with the exact same Invoice ID / Session Number. These transactions are usually just about 30 seconds to 1 minute appart.
The problem is, that our order processing department only receives one e-mail confirmation but in this case the customers credit card is charged twice.
We have not had a chance to get the exact feedback from those customers about what happened but we suspect that these customers might have submitted the order - might have received a failure notice (maybe due to a connection issue) - clicked the back button and clicked submit again. It almost looks this way since the system lets both charges go through with the exact same invoice/session ID.
Any thoughts or experience about what could cause this?
