How do I implement dynamic themes

Hi there

I have made 3 css sculptor designs.
have made 3 css menu writer menus to the designs
saved them as dwt templates
created regions menu-content-footer in all templates

so far so good

I also have a folder with a lot of pages I need to add these designs to based on users session id

Whats the procedure to implement those 3 designs to be loaded based on users session id ??

how do I convert and apply all 3 designs to the pages ???

Can anybody give a step by step instruction!

best regards

Using dynamic Themes is the same as using Static Themes up to the point when you apply it to the page.

When you got the point where you would select the WebAssist -> framework Builder -> Themes -> Apply Theme, select he Apply Dynamic theme option instead.

In the Dynamic Theme Window, select the user ID session value for the trigger variable.

Then click the plus button, And select the them that will be used, then type the value that will trigger that theme. This is the value for the userID session variable that should cause that theme to be used.

Repeat for each theme / value combination.

Hi Jason

When I click the Apply Dynamic theme option

I get warning: You must have a Dreamweaver Template applyed to your page to use Framework themes

I then open a page that has one template assigned.

When I try again I get a window:
A Framework theme has allready been applied to this template. Open the server behavioru panel to modify.

When I do that I get

"Apply Theme from dreamweaver template" ?????

What - I`ve allready done that ????

I get no Plus button...

Sorry, but as I and many else has stated: the documentation is no good at all. I simply dont know, what to do - where to go and in what order to do it !

Some tutorial on how to use the software is REALLY needed...

you have to apply a template to a page before you can apply a theme to it.

Open the page, and go to Modify -> Templates -> Apply template to page. Select one of the templates to use.

Then go to WebAssist -> Framework builder -> Themes -> Apply Dynamic Theme

It sounds to me like the pages you are working on already have a static theme applied.

the steps i follow are;
1) Create a layout using CSS Sculptor

2) Create a second layout using CSS Sculptor

3) Repeat for as many themes as you wish top create

4) save each layout as a template

5) Edit each template to add editable regions. Make sure each template has the same number of editable regions, and use the same names, be careful of case.

6) Convert each template to a theme

7) Create a new page from one of the templates.

8) Convert the page to use Dynamic Themes, WebAssist -> Framework builder -> Themes -> Apply Dynamic Theme

9) in the dynamic theme interface, select the trigger variable, and each theme / value combination

repeat 7 - 9 for each page you add to the site.

Hi Jason..

I cant add the dynamic plugins to template, as you suggest.

I open a template and try to inset dynamic plugin.

I get this warning :

Before you can launch this interface, you will need to open a PHP page from the current site in Dreamweaver
