auto increment number in universal email

auto increment number in universal email

I'd like to add a number that automatically increments starting at 8302 to be emailed each time a form is filled out.

This is what I currently have:

$MailBody = $MailBody . "\r\n";
$MailBody = $MailBody . "\r\n";
$MailBody = $MailBody . ((isset($_POST["fname"]))?$_POST["fname"]:"");
$MailBody = $MailBody . "; ";
$MailBody = $MailBody . ((isset($_POST["lname"]))?$_POST["lname"]:"");
$MailBody = $MailBody . "; \r\n";
$MailBody = $MailBody . ((isset($_POST["address1"]) && $_POST["address1"] != "")?$_POST["address1"]:"address1 ?");
$MailBody = $MailBody . "; \r\n";

After the address field, I'd like it to insert the auto number. Do I need to have it connected to a database to do this? Currently, I don't have the information going into one.

yes a data base would need to be used in order to keep track of the number to get the right increment.

create a database table and use the Data Assist Insert record behavior to store the form data .

the insert record behavior stores the ID of the record that is inserted to a session variable.

you could use the session variable to show the incrementing number.

after you create the table, you can run the following query:

this will set the starting point of the auto increment to 8302
